FAQ

Answers to all of your deepest questions…

What is the date and time of the wedding?

We are getting married on June 2, 2013, and our wedding ceremony begins at 10:30 am.

How do I get there?

Click here for directions to the Boston Common Parking Garage, which is a 5 minute walk from the Hampshire House.  You can find more directions by clicking on the “Wedding Info” tab above.

What time should I arrive?

Our ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30, so it’s probably best to aim to arrive about 15 minutes early for your comfort and convenience.   Although there shouldn’t be too much traffic in Boston on a Sunday morning, please allow plenty of time for any surprises that the Boston roads might deliver that day.

Can I come?

We made the difficult decision to keep our wedding very intimate, and unfortunately that means that there are a lot of friends and family who won’t be there on our wedding day.  We hope you can understand that it’s nothing personal and respect our wishes to keep our sacred event small.  Invitations will be mailed in March.

Can I bring my friend / neighbor / date?

We have worked very hard to create a small, intimate celebration with close friends and family that we know and love and who have shared in our lives together.  In addition, our ceremony and reception venue is small and we cannot accommodate additional guests. We’d love to meet your friends at another time.

Can I bring my children?

This is especially difficult – we love children, and there are many with whom we would love to share the day.  However we’ve chosen to celebrate our marriage with a formal ceremony and an adult reception.  Unless we’ve specifically invited your children, we respectfully request that this be an adults only event.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly.

When should I RSVP?

We kindly ask that you RSVP by May 1.

Is there a break between the ceremony and reception?

The ceremony and reception will both be held at the Hampshire House.  A cocktail hour will immediately follow our wedding ceremony, and brunch will be served following the cocktail hour.

Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?

We will be hosting a brunch buffet, with a variety of food choices that we hope will suit diverse dietary preferences and needs.  If you have concerns about food allergy or sensitivity, please contact us directly to discuss options.

Can I take pictures?

Of course! We would love for you to take pictures, not just of us, but also of your fellow guests on our wedding day.  However, we have hired a fantastic photographer to capture beautiful images of our day because we also want you to enjoy your time at our wedding.  So feel free to snap a few shots, but don’t forget to enjoy being in the moment!

Does your venue have an elevator?

Yes, there is an elevator that guests can use if needed.

I’m coming from out of town.  Where should I stay?

We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bedford, MA.  We have negotiated a $89.00/night rate, which is available for the nights of May 30-June 2.  Click this link to make reservations:    Brumm/Davenport Room Block.  Alternatively, you can call the hotel at (781)-275-5500 and ask to reserve a room from our block.  We recommend reserving a room early, and the special room rate is only available for reservations that are made by May 12.

Are you registered somewhere?

We can think of no better present than your presence at our wedding.  We both believe that we have been incredibly blessed in life and in love, and we truly feel that being surrounded by the people we love on our wedding day will be the most wonderful gift!  However, if you are considering a gift, both Andrew and Kathleen have been actively involved with charitable organizations and would suggest that a gift be made to help those with greater needs than ourselves.  More information about these deserving organizations, as well as information on how to make a charitable contribution, can be found here.

Will names be changing after the wedding?

Yes, Kathleen will be changing her last name to become a Davenport after the wedding.  But Andrew will be calling her “Dr. Wife”!

Do you have honeymoon plans?

Yes, we will be traveling to beautiful Banff and Jasper National Parks in the Canadian Rockies following the wedding.  We are looking forward to exploring the stunning landscape and taking lots (and lots and lots, knowing us) of photos!!
